The Bootlegger Soap Story
Several years ago, a few friends were working for a major healthcare manufacturer. Over time, we grew frustrated with how generic so many soaps and body products felt — forgettable scents, mass-market presentation, and very little personality.
So we left “Big Soap” behind.
The goal was simple: build a better shower experience around bold scents, full-size bars, small-batch cold-process craftsmanship, and a brand with some character.
It wasn’t long before we were sharing the soaps with friends and family. Like the secret passwords and hidden doors of 1920s speakeasies, Bootlegger became a worst-kept secret and the idea started spreading.
Today, Bootlegger Soap is inspired by the style, grit and rebellious spirit of Prohibition-era America. We make soap for people who want something more interesting than the same old drugstore aisle.

Our bars are cold-processed in small batches with plant oils, shea butter, bold fragrance profiles, and mild exfoliants on select scents.
